New tunes for spring, Grammy Award nominees and SXSW concerts
Spring will be here before we know it. Our clients are ready to share exciting new releases for April and May.
Explorer of the World (Frances England) ~ April 1 – Frances England, one of the most important voices in family music today, takes listeners on a shimmering sonic journey and make a bold new case for the value of paying attention to the undiscovered treasures we pass every day. Over two years, Frances took walks around the neighborhoods of her city and, with a hand-held microphone, recorded sounds that she’d always heard, but never paid much attention to; she then wrote these songs, and with the help of with Dean Jones and Dave Winer, produced her latest all-ages album. An “Explorer of the World” craft and activity book will be published in April too. Catch the video of Frances’ hit new single, “City Don’t Sleep”
Bring Back the Funk – It’s a New Sugar Free Allstars ~ April 2 – Are you ready to rock? The Oklahoma City based duo known for sophisticated family-friendly funk will release a self-titled new album, their first in four years. With a deeply groovy sound harkening back to the era of boom boxes and break dancing, the album debuts when the band showcases at KindieComm, the annual independent family music conference, and when they perform at Spare the Rock family concerts during SXSW Music Week in Austin, TX in March.
Children’s Music News from Amazon ~ Amazon Music continues to build kid-friendly content around two exclusive children’s music albums, by The Pop Ups (Great Pretenders Club) and Lisa Loeb (Nursery Rhyme Parade!). New music videos from each artist will be released through the rest of the month.
